Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor – Computational Biology & Bioinformatics (6-10 faculty positions)
  • Job Description

    The Warshel Institute for Computational Biology at the School of Life and Health Sciences invites applications for 6-10 faculty positions in two broad fields as described below.

    A. Computational Chemistry

    We are seeking outstanding scientists in all areas of computational chemistry, including but not limited to molecular simulations (QM/MM, molecular dynamics, enhanced sampling, force-field development …), structural bioinformatics, computer-aided drug design and chemoinformatics. Candidates with solid background in machine learning are encouraged to apply.

    B. Bioinformatics

    We are seeking outstanding scientists in all areas of bioinformatics, including but not limited to genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, systems biology and structural bioinformatics.

    Preference will be given to the candidates who complement or extend our existing strengths in the above areas, particularly those with proven record or strong potential in method development.

    Qualifications

    * Applicants must have a doctoral degree in physical chemistry, theoretical/computational chemistry, bioinformatics or computational biology with postdoctoral experiences in related fields.

    * Applicants must have a very strong record of research productivity, demonstrate the ability to develop a rigorous research program, and be committed to teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

    Salary and Fringe Benefits

    Salary will be comparable to international standards, commensurate with experience and accomplishments. Appointments will be made under the establishment of CUHK-Shenzhen, and employee benefits will be provided according to the relevant labor laws of Mainland China as well as CUHK-Shenzhen regulations.

    The qualified candidate may be appointed at the rank of tenure-track assistant professor/associated professor/professor.
